Lead retrieval, without the rental counter

Lead retrieval is how exhibitors turn badge scans into a follow-up list. Survtapp replaces rented venue scanners with your own iPads and Android devices: scan attendee QR badges, score each lead on the spot, and export the full list to CSV. The free plan includes 100 captures a month.

What is lead retrieval?

At most conferences and trade shows, attendee badges carry a code. Lead retrieval is the service that lets an exhibitor scan that code and get the attendee’s contact details — traditionally by renting a scanner or a licensed app from the event’s official provider, per event, per device.

The rental model has a familiar sting: you pay again at every event, the data arrives in the provider’s format on their schedule, and the scanner goes back at teardown along with your ability to check anything.

How is Survtapp different from renting?

Survtapp puts lead retrieval on hardware you already own. Your team scans with the Survtapp app on their own phones and tablets, every scan lands in your account rather than a provider portal, and the same setup works at your next event without another rental.

Because capture keeps working offline, a convention-hall dead zone doesn’t interrupt the booth: records queue on the device with their original timestamps and sync when the connection returns.

What does a scan actually give you?

The attendee’s registration details, plus everything your rep adds in the moment — a star score and free-text notes — so the follow-up list ranks itself. Export it all to CSV whenever you like, including mid-event.

Questions, answered plainly

Can I use my own devices for lead retrieval?

Yes — that is the point. The Survtapp app runs on iPads, iPhones and Android devices your team already carries. Your plan lists its device allowance.

Do I need the venue’s official lead retrieval provider?

Not when the event runs its badges on Survtapp. The organizer generates QR badges through Survtapp and exhibitors scan them with the Survtapp app directly.

What happens if the hall has no signal?

Scanning and qualification keep working. Captures are stored on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns — with the original capture times preserved.

Can I qualify leads at the booth?

Yes. Each capture takes a star score and notes, so a rep can mark a hot lead in the seconds after the conversation instead of reconstructing it from memory a week later.

How do I get the leads into my CRM?

Export to CSV at any time — scores, notes and timestamps included — and import into any CRM that accepts CSV, which is effectively all of them.

Who owns the lead data?

You do. Captures live in your Survtapp account, hosted in Canada, and export freely. There is no per-event provider holding your list.
